Oh Alex, this is so hard to believe! I remember the very moment when your parents told us we were expecting you for the first time.. and what tears of joy. To see you grow from that little boy with the big grin into the young athlete, artist, musician, entrepreneur, hunter, budding scholar, and promising young man that you are now makes my heart well up even more than I could imagine. You’re very fortunate to have wise and loving parents, extended and extensive family and friends, all of us here for you for any reason, don’t ever forget that!
I look forward to seeing you become even more you than you are now. It’s bound to be an exciting journey, and I love you much my young man.
You’re the real deal. One amazing guy. Since it is the dream of fathers that their sons would surpass them, it is certain that you were born to be incredible because your dad is one of my heroes.
Proud of you, and honored to watch you become this mighty young man.
I came across this blog while searching for healthy recipes on google. I made this recipe last night with whole grain penne pasta, and it was absolutely delicious – even the kale! I highly recommend this recipe to others. Thanks for sharing!
Nathan, this is great! Sorry i’m just reading it (almost 3 years late), but I suspect the kids have just gotten funnier, and you’re enjoying it all more. Keep up the good work, and I’m just gonna go ahead and say “Happy Birthday” now for the 30th, so you know I’m thinking of you & praying for a good one ; ) God bless you!
Nathan, I love that you articulate your reflections on life so well and, even more, that you are willing to share them. Thank you! Happy day to you and Tara!
Beautifully written, Nathan. Wonderful memories of the beautiful day and the joy of sharing the celebration with you and Tara. You are a very special couple and we are grateful for your friendship. Believe it or not – we WILL see you in Ithaca sometime – maybe when you least expect it! Very happy memories of your Houghton days. Much happiness to both of you.
Hi, Nathan! Thank you for reading and reviewing Dreamtreaders! Stoked that you enjoyed the book. Oh, and smack CH upside the head and tell him to write! ;-D
Hi, Nathan! This is Mark Fletcher, owner of Country Traders. Thanks for the wonderful review! We really appreciate it here in Jamaica. We actually do have a dark roast, (special order only) so we’ll make sure you get some the next time @dhgoodall has coffee shipped to Cornell. :-)
Please let us know if you ever come to Jamaica. I know you’re a coffee connoisseur, so we’d be happy to give you a tour of our factory.
We had this years ago — 2004, I suspect — at Fairway Market’s restaurant in NYC, and it was definitely memorable. One of the best coffees of memory. French press then, too.
To Alex—-Love with our whole hearts our first, #1, super-special, amazingly extraordinary, God-blessed Grand-man [he’s not a kid anymore!] So glad he is a part of our world—for everybody’s sake! Great advice from Dad. Sorry your birthday gets caught up with Christmas—but you make people think of Jesus so that’s okay. We are privileged to watch you grow—thanks for being so special and being a part of such a special clan! Thanks, Nathan, for your way with words! Much Love from Oma and Opa
I totally agree that this was a page turner and it definitely held my attention.
As to the ending my thought is that a possible outcome could be as follows:
Arthur Flinders-Petrie will have to die so that he can’t save Xian-Li by taking
her into the Spirit Well, so they will have to alter the past as they know it
and thus negate the entire series and this will keep the quest for the Skin
Map from ever happening
This looks really good, and I have never eaten kale. However, my kids don’t like tomatoes and have health issue with peppers, so I’m wondering if bacon could be put in there?
I don’t agree that this one was a page-turner. I thought it a bit slow, as some others did. But it was still brilliant and I do look forward to the conclusion.
Interesting question at the end. I’ve never considered the series would end in a disaster, but I can’t imagine how he’s going to pull all these threads together in just one more book. As always, I appreciate your perspective.
It’s amazing how the author is linking the two main British myths, Camelot and Robin Hood. Wonder what else he will work in there? This book is going all kinds of unpredictable places in my opinion. Glad you were able to predict Robin Hood. What else are you predicting?
Hey!
When we came upon “Robin” I KNEW it was Robin Hood. Ha! I hadn’t thought about the time period being around the time King Richard going off to the crusades and the time of Robin Hood. It felt older than that. So it was a surprise to see it. That said, I will have to pick up the other two books as I have not read them yet. I know…gasp! But I didn’t want to sit this tour out seeing as it is my first time touring with you all.
And I have to say that I LOVE your site. I will have to come back and check out all the recipes and thoughts from a dad! Awesomeness.
Looks good, I’m going to try this tonight. I’m just a little surprised that there are no herbs. I think I’m going to add some fresh dill and parsley. I’m also surprised that there is no white wine or lemon juice or any liquid at all. I’m glad because I . don’t drink. I just hope the liquid from the onions and tomatoes are enough. Also, do you cover it. I guess not because it’s only cooking for 10 minutes. I’m thinking I may cover it first and then turn it on broil uncovered for about 2 minutes. But the basic recipe is just great!!!!! Thanks for this!!!!
How many talapia will this mixture cover
Im making for 15 people
Thanks for finding this old recipe. I believe it fed our family of 4, so I would at least triple the recipe for 15. Let me know how it turns out!
WOW
i didn’t notice how long ago this was posted!
Thanks for your prompt reply.
I will let you know how it goes
Have a Happy and Healthy New Year!
So cute!
Glad you enjoyed it!
Just found my Caramel Maple Bacon Cupcakes here. Thank you for sharing!
You’re welcome!

Thanks for sending the coffee. Nice to know about a dark roast. I would love to visit Jamaica and get a tour!

Good to hear that coffee helps keep your memory sharp!

Nathan, thanks for taking the time out to write up a review. This is one busy time of year!

Yes! Bacon makes everything better. The tomatoes are optional. You could substitute broccoli or spinach for the peppers.
I don’t agree that this one was a page-turner. I thought it a bit slow, as some others did. But it was still brilliant and I do look forward to the conclusion.
Thanks for the feedback. To me it seems like the pace is getting faster toward the conclusion.
Interesting question at the end. I’ve never considered the series would end in a disaster, but I can’t imagine how he’s going to pull all these threads together in just one more book. As always, I appreciate your perspective.

Thanks. If I was a betting man, I would bet it won’t end in a disaster but at this point anything’s possible.
Liked how you gave people a chance the read the other two books. Very thoughtful on your part! 5 Stars
Must try this! Thanks for posting!

Yes, you need to read the first two. I think this one would be a bit confusing without those. Thanks for your kind words about my site.
Loved your thoughts. Thanks!
Thank you!

Thanks for your comments and questions. I think this could be finished with some lemon juice and I would love to hear how yours turned out.
Hmmm…that glossary has some info about the nations….maybe we should draw our own map!
