UPDATE – 3/11/12

We have a baby and a winner! Adeline Reese was born on 3/6 and was 7lbs 10oz.

Congrats to Jason for the pseudo scientific guess of 3/6 and 7lbs 15oz!

Thanks to everyone for entering, it was a lot of fun.

We’re down to the final two weeks of the longest pregnancy ever! Just kidding, honey! We’re a bit anxious waiting to meet our daughter,  Baby “A”, so for a bit of fun and distraction, I’m going to have a giveaway. Guess the birth date and the weight and you’ll win a sample pack of coffee from one of my favorite local roasters, the Ithaca Coffee Company!

Here are the rules:

  1. Guess the birth date and weight
  2. Post your guess as a comment below
  3. One entry per person, no redos
  4. If you don’t drink coffee, then too bad, maybe you should start. :)

Hints:

  • Son was born at 9 lbs 13 oz
  • Daughter was born at 8 lbs 11 oz
  • Both kids were near their birthdates
  • Due date is March 9th

Good luck and happy guessing!

  • Awesome, I can’t wait to watch my wife drink it while I enjoy some programmers fuel (diet mt. dew). I was a little worried with the facebook updates that it might be a little earlier then I (actually your IP address) predicted, but in the end computers never lie. I’ll be ready to defend my crown with your next kid! Congratulation on the new baby!

  • As I was pouring my coffee this morning, I suddenly thought of the giveaway and decided to take a look. There’s exactly a clear winner, is there? 2 people got the date right–Jason (Cuykendall??) guessed the date but was off by 5 oz. And Oma guessed the date but was off my more than a pound! Jen Columbia was only off by 1 oz and 2 days and Philip Shen was off by 3 days and 1 oz, but if you turn March 9 upside down, it’s March 6th, so that seems pretty close! And I was off by 3 days (but again, you could just turn my 9 into a 6 ;-) and 2 oz, so I guess I’m out. So, what’s the word??

  • wait.. the date and weight?? wouldn’t one or the other be good enough? :o
    I’m going with.. 3/7 at 8.3.

    • Closest on both will win.

  • Ok…lets say 4th/8.8…and since no one else put the 4th…we can swap some Kona from the islands with Ithaca coffee…just putting it out there! Hugs all!

    • mmm.. Kona coffee… mmmm

  • March 4th
    7lbs 3oz

  • March 10, 8 pounds 6 oz.

  • I’m going with March 13 and 9.5 pounds! Good luck!

  • March 7
    8 lbs., 9 oz.

  • March 8th. 9lbs 1oz.

  • I’m going with March 9th, 8lb 4oz. (Coincidentally, that’s also the details of my coffee order. ;)
If you can do it, and I don’t think I’m asking too much, but could you make the numbers as mathy as possible? Such as working around the number 12, etc…

    eg:
    3/9/12 : 3 + 9 = 12
    8lb 4oz : 8 + 4 = 12

No pressure — just do what you can…. ;)

    • Or today 3 x 4 = 12 :)

  • 9 lbs
    March 5

And hopefully a super-easy time for all involved!

  • You practically gave the answer away!
If I take the sum of this web sites IP address (70.84.137.66) I get 357 which is a clue that it will be between 3/5 and 3/7.
March 6 is the Michelangelo virus day so that would make sense. So March 6th it is.
    3/6/12 4:59 to be exact which is 3612459 milligrams and 3612459 milligrams = 7lbs 15oz

    • Nicely done. Where should I send the coffee? (just kidding)

  • March 8th, 7lbs 9 ozs (Here’s hoping Tara! =)

  • March 3rd, 8 lbs, 2 oz

  • mkay I’m going 3/16 7lb1oz 21″ Go MARCH BABY :) (for the record I’m only going w Mar 16 because it’s my birthday)

  • March 7th

    8lbs 7oz

  • ….anyone guessing over 9 lbs…. I’m ousting you from the contest!! :) I’m liking the 7′s….

  • March 6 —-8#12 oz Could we do early morning??

  • March 9th
    7lbs. 8 oz.
Do we get to guess her name too??

    • You can, but we’re still not telling!

  • 9.2
    March 7th

  • 9 lbs
    March 10th

  • March 9th
    7lbs 11oz

  • My guess still stands at TONIGHT Feb.26th. 7lbs.2oz. Ye haw! Cooooooofffffeeeee!!! Gimme. ;)
