I mentioned these in my Bitoque recipe and promised to show you how to make them. My kids love fries so much they would eat them as the entire meal. Try these for a healthier version and everyone wins!
Need:
Potatoes – 2-3 per person
Salt & Pepper
Garlic powder
Olive oil
Oven at 450F
10 minutes prep
30 minutes cook
Step 1: Prepping
- Pre-heat the oven to 450F
- Wash the potatoes well
- Remove any bad spots
- Keep the skin on
Step 2: Slicing
- Slice the potato along the long side about 1/4 inch wide
- Keep the slices together, and turn the potato over
- Remove the bottom slice (this will keep it from sliding around)
- Slice it again about 1/4 inch wide
- Repeat with each potato
Step 3. Seasoning
- Put the fries in a large mixing bowl
- Toss with olive oil
- Season with garlic powder, salt & pepper
- Toss again until well seasoned
Step 4: Baking
- Spread evenly on a baking sheet. Use two sheets if you have to, just make sure you keep them even
- Bake until golden and crispy, about 1/2 hour
- Turn after 10-15 minutes
- Don’t let them burn, so keep an eye on them
Step 5: Eating
- Serve alongside your next meal with Ketchup, garlic aioli, or your favorite dipping sauce
- Enjoy!
